Meryl Blecker Joerg, M.D., F.A.A.D. is a Manhattan dermatologist with over 25 years in practice, specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology, with particular expertise in laser treatments, injectable treatments, and individualized skin rejuvenation.
Her approach combines careful medical judgment with an artist’s understanding of proportion, balance, color, texture, and light. Whether treating a medical skin condition or developing a cosmetic treatment plan, she believes that excellent dermatologic care should be thoughtful, precise, and uniquely tailored to the individual.
An International Foundation
Dr. Joerg’s perspective has been shaped by extensive international study and a lifelong interest in different cultures. During medical school, she spent a year studying dermatology in France, gaining valuable exposure to a European approach to skin health, beauty, and patient care.
She also studied art in Italy — an experience that deepened her appreciation for classical proportion, subtle detail, and the relationship between structure and beauty. These international experiences continue to influence both her medical practice and her approach to cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Joerg has studied Spanish, Italian, French, and German and is able to communicate with patients in these languages. She particularly enjoys welcoming an international patient population to her New York City practice.

Outside medicine, Dr. Joerg is an artist who works in painting and ceramics. She is also deeply interested in art history, architecture, museums, galleries, travel, and music production.
Working with clay and paint has refined her sensitivity to form, symmetry, texture, and dimension — the same visual principles that inform sophisticated cosmetic treatment. This artistic perspective allows her to assess the face as a whole while respecting the qualities that make each person distinctive.
Her goal is never to impose a standardized look or make a patient appear “done.” Instead, she seeks to create harmony, restore balance, improve skin quality, and help patients look refreshed while remaining entirely recognizable.
